Police arrest 262 suspects, rescue 27 kidnapped victims

The Nigeria Police Force made significant strides in combating criminal activities across the country between September 5 and 11, 2026. Between September 5 and 11, 2026, the Nigeria Police Force successfully arrested 262 suspects and rescued 27 kidnapped victims through a series of tactical operations. These operations took place in various regions, including Delta State, Kwara State, Nasarawa State, and Kaduna State.

The suspects were apprehended for a range of criminal activities, including kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, banditry, cultism, human trafficking, drug peddling, vandalism, and other offenses. In addition to the arrests and rescues, the police recovered 34 firearms, 375 rounds of live ammunition, and 11 vehicles, demonstrating the force's commitment to disrupting criminal networks.

The weekly operational briefing, delivered by the force's spokesperson, Ani Iniedu, highlighted the collaborative efforts of local communities, forest guards, and divisional crack operatives in executing these operations.
