PM Shehbaz meets Lebanese interior minister, condemns Israeli aggression against Lebanon

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Lebanese Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar on Monday, as announced by the Prime Minister's Office. Deputies Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, and Talal Chaudhry attended the gathering. The prime minister highlighted the significance of the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Lebanon, wishing the Lebanese authorities well.

Discussions during the meeting centered on the evolution of bilateral ties and cooperation, with both nations expressing contentment over the progress in interior and security matters.

Expressing profound sorrow, Shehbaz Sharif condemned Israeli aggression against Lebanon, mourning the loss of lives and property. He affirmed his government's unequivocal support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, vowing to stand by the Lebanese people during these challenging times. The Lebanese minister expressed gratitude for the welcoming gesture and reaffirmed Lebanon's dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Pakistan.

Later, Shehbaz Sharif participated in a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the transfer of sentenced persons. The MoU, signed by the interior ministers of both nations, establishes a legal framework enabling convicted citizens to serve the remainder of their sentences in their home country.
