Penn State news: Barkley, Allen link up for moment after Eagles-Commanders

In a remarkable moment after the Eagles-Commanders game, former Penn State running backs Saquon Barkley and Kaytron Allen linked up to swap jerseys. Allen, who is the all-time leading rusher for Penn State with 4,180 yards, and Barkley, who finished with 3,843 yards in his college career, did not share the field during their time in college. However, their paths crossed in the NFL, leading to a memorable exchange of jerseys.

Allen, who was drafted in the sixth round by the Washington Commanders, currently holds the school rushing record. Barkley, on the other hand, is second all-time in yards from scrimmage, trailing only Allen in that regard. Allen had to split time with Nicholas Singleton, who was also drafted in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. Singleton holds the record for most touchdowns in Penn State history, with Barkley coming in second and Allen third.

Barkley, now in his ninth NFL season, has amassed an impressive 8,356 rushing yards, 55 touchdowns, and 2,651 receiving yards with 16 more scores. He is also a Super Bowl Champion and the 2024 NFL Offensive Player of the Year. In the Week 1 game against the Commanders, Barkley ran for 83 yards on 15 carries, while Allen contributed with four carries for 16 yards.

The Eagles emerged victorious in the game, 24-22, after a failed two-point conversion attempt by the Commanders.
