Nigerian actor Olaiya Igwe has addressed concerns surrounding a viral video that suggested he was seriously ill. The footage, which surfaced online last week, depicted the veteran actor appearing weak and unwell, leading to speculation about his health. In response to the rumors, Igwe clarified that the video was taken on a movie set and not indicative of his actual health status.

He explained that the scene was from a film directed by veteran actor Mr. Latin, where he was playing the role of a sick father. This convincing portrayal had led many viewers to believe he was genuinely battling an illness. On his Instagram page, Igwe expressed disappointment over individuals who seemed pleased by the false reports, while appreciating those who reached out to check on his wellbeing.

"I have seen some people wishing me to die. For those who are genuinely concerned, please relax. There is no problem. I was only acting my role, as you all know, I am a versatile actor," he stated. Igwe further emphasized that the viral clip originated from a movie production and reassured fans that he remains healthy. "It was an Oga Latin movie we were shooting, and one of the scenes required me to play a sick father.

It went viral and brought concern from the public. Some understood that I was only acting, while others thought I was actually sick and checked up on me. For those wishing me evil, evil will be their portion. I am okay and there is nothing wrong with me," he added.
