Noorazli sedia mohon maaf jika ucapan menyinggung

Sepang Umno Chief Noorazli Said has requested forgiveness for any misunderstanding or offense caused by his analogy during the 2026 PAU (Party Annual Convergence) speech, should it have been interpreted as offending any party. The deputy acknowledged that anecdotes involving religious figures or references could be perceived differently, especially in Malaysia's diverse society.

Noorazli stated he is deeply sorry if his speech caused any misunderstanding or offended any party, particularly Christian followers, and is ready to apologize humbly. At a recent gathering, Noorazli recounted a story about a driver teaching a novice how to drive a manual Proton Saga while transporting a nurse. He used a phrase he mistakenly associated with Psalm 129 from the Bible, which did not actually appear in that particular chapter.

Opposition MP Wilfred Madius Tangau criticized the analogy as "absolutely inappropriate and offensive," urging Noorazli to apologize. Fellow Umno Youth Leader Dr Akmal Saleh also called for an apology, emphasizing that religion should not be used for humor. Noorazli clarified that the story was meant solely as an analogy to convey lessons about focus, perseverance, and wisdom in achieving goals.

He stressed that the analogy was not intended to disparage, belittle, or demean anyone, belief, or religion. Noorazli expressed his gratitude for the reactions and views generated by his speech and accepted it as a lesson to be more cautious when selecting analogies in the future. He affirmed his respect for all religions and beliefs and always promotes harmony, mutual respect, and understanding as essential factors for living in a diverse society.

Noorazli hopes his explanation will dispel any misconceptions and ensure continued harmony and mutual respect among the diverse society in the country.
