Nominations open for ITWeb Brainstorm CIO of the Year Awards

The ITWeb Brainstorm, in collaboration with First Distribution and Microsoft, has announced the commencement of nominations for the CIO of the Year Awards for 2026. The ICT community is invited to submit nominations for distinguished IT leaders who have made significant contributions in the previous 12 months. The awards aim to recognize and honor the exceptional achievements of SA's chief information officers (CIOs) in both the enterprise and public sectors.

Nominees are required to highlight a key technological initiative or project they spearheaded, exhibit their leadership skills, and provide a compelling explanation as to why they should be awarded. Last year's honorees included Tando Luyaba, who received the Public Sector CIO of the Year Award for his work as CIO of the Information Regulator, and Khomotso Molabe, who was named Enterprise CIO of the Year for her role as group CIO at Standard Bank.

The nomination window is open for two weeks and will conclude on Monday, 28 September. A panel of judges, including last year's winners, will shortlist the finalists before conducting interviews. The final winners will be unveiled at the highly-regarded ITWeb Brainstorm CIO Banquet on Thursday, 22 October, at the Four Seasons Hotel the Westcliff in Johannesburg.
