A new typhoon could potentially impact Okinawa during the Silver Week holiday period, according to reports. Additionally, heavy rain is currently affecting areas along the Sea of Japan coast and poses a threat of intense rainfall from Kanto to Kyushu starting September 15. Notably, extremely heavy rain was recorded in Nibetsu, Akita City, where 69 millimeters of rain fell within an hour.

Forecasted hourly rainfall rates of up to 40 millimeters are expected in some areas of Hokuriku and Tohoku through the evening of September 14, with similar conditions persisting from September 15 across parts of Kanto to Kyushu.
