Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan rules Sept 5 document treasonous, Tuanku Muhriz remains Yang di‑Pertuan Besar

On September 14, the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) in Negeri Sembilan declared a document signed on September 5 to be treasonous. The document aimed to depose the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz. Four of the six signatories were found to be in positions they falsely claimed, and they had issued unlawful orders to government officials.

They attempted to remove Tuanku Muhriz without the lawful investigation mandated by the state constitution. The DKU ruled that no government officials should follow the September 5 document's instructions and reaffirmed Tuanku Muhriz's position as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar. The body also directed its secretary to report the six individuals to the police.

The DKU expressed worry over a proposed reconciliation committee, stating that such matters fall under its jurisdiction as per Article XVI of the state constitution. The organization stressed that the April 19 proclamation was invalid due to the lack of recognition of three signatories as Undang. It also noted that Tuanku Muhriz had never been given the required notice or opportunity to respond and that a new menteri besar's attempt to sign the same document was ineffective as the function had already been fulfilled.

The DKU confirmed Tuanku Muhriz as the lawful Yang di-Pertuan Besar and president of the Dewan, with no vacancy existing. The six signatories of the September 5 document and the holders of Undang positions were clarified, with two vacancies remaining. The DKU urged all parties to refrain from spreading false information about the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and Undang institutions, highlighting their importance as a trust for the people and their heirs, not owned by any individual or party.
