Nandom MP announces GH¢282,000 scholarship for 98 students

The Member of Parliament for Nandom Constituency, Mr Richard Kuuire, has announced the allocation of GH¢282,000 to provide scholarships for 98 students in the Upper West Region's Nandom area for the 2026/27 academic year. Speaking to The Ghanaian Times in Accra, Mr Kuuire stated that the funds would cover school fees for the beneficiaries, and the recipients and their individual allocations would be announced during an official ceremony at Danko's Municipal Assembly Hall.

In addition to the scholarship program, Mr Kuuire disclosed that he had approved GH¢47,500 to assist constituents with the payment of medical bills for the 2026 financial year. These interventions aim to help those facing financial difficulties in accessing education and healthcare. Meanwhile, the MP also mentioned the progress of two development projects in the constituency: the construction of a 24-hour economy market and the repair of potholes on the Lawra-Nandom-Hamile road.

The contractor for the market's construction has already arrived at the site, signaling the commencement of preparatory activities ahead of the main construction works. Similarly, the contractor for the pothole patching on the road has been on site, with logistics moved to Mission Park, where the work will begin from the speed ramp around the Nandom Community Bank towards the hospital.

Both projects are expected to contribute to economic activity and improve transportation within Nandom Constituency.
