MP Transco's Transmission Capacity Rises To 85,488 MVA After Mundi Transformer Goes Live In MP's Khandwa

Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company, a government-owned entity, recently energized an additional 50 MVA power transformer at its 132 kV Mundi Substation in Khandwa district. This installation is part of MP Transco's ongoing efforts to bolster the transmission network to meet the growing electricity demand in the state. The commissioning of this transformer has boosted MP Transco's total transformation capacity in Madhya Pradesh to 85,488 MVA.

Initial reports indicate that the energisation of the new power transformer has increased the capacity of the Mundi substation from 40 MVA to 90 MVA. This upgrade has not only strengthened the transmission network of the Nimar region but also enhanced the overall capacity of the state's power transmission system.

The additional transformer installation at the Mundi (Khandwa) substation has also contributed to the strengthening of the transmission network in the Nimar region, a key area in Madhya Pradesh. According to Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, the energisation of the new power transformer has led to an increase in the substation's capacity from 40 MVA to 90 MVA, marking a significant upgrade in the transmission infrastructure.

Electricity transmission is currently conducted through 417 Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations by MP Transco. This network comprises 14 substations at 400 kV, 88 substations at 220 kV, and a substantial 315 substations at 132 kV. The installation of the 50 MVA transformer at the Mundi Substation has contributed to the overall increase in MP Transco's total transformation capacity to 85,488 MVA.
