Moscow and Kiev agree to halt attacks on energy facilities: Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky echoed Trump's statement on X, describing the de-escalation of attacks on critical infrastructure as a potential "first step towards peace." He emphasized that the war must end. However, there was no immediate response from Moscow or Kiev to Trump's declaration. The utility of the agreement remains unclear, as both nations have a history of targeting energy facilities and fuel stations.

On Sunday, Trump urged Zelensky to desist from targeting Russian refineries, blaming him for the worldwide diesel shortage. He suggested that Ukraine could target other objectives. No new attacks on energy facilities have been reported since Sunday, according to the latest updates. In his X post, Zelensky proposed to Ukraine's allies the idea of reaching an agreement with Russia to halt the destruction of critical infrastructure.
