LG CNS Gains Recognition in Indonesia as Digital Tax System Enters Next Phase

LG CNS has achieved international recognition in Indonesia's public-sector technology market, receiving a plaque of appreciation from the country's tax authority on September 11 for its pivotal role in developing and supporting the nation's digital tax administration system, Coretax. This next-generation tax platform, launched as part of a major digitalization project, streamlined a myriad of tax processes including registration, filing, payments, refunds, audits, and collections onto a single, unified system.

Completed in collaboration with Austrian IT company Qualysoft GmbH in December 2024, LG CNS has since taken on crucial roles beyond the project's initial completion.

Post the tax authority's takeover of system operations in April, LG CNS has committed to maintaining key infrastructure, including database systems, ensuring operational stability. As Indonesia's Ministry of Finance and the tax authority highlight a 24.6% increase in tax revenue to 1,035.7 trillion rupiah (approximately $79.1 billion) in the first half of the year, LG CNS's expertise is credited with modernizing the tax administration system.

Looking ahead, LG CNS is exploring potential advancements through the integration of artificial intelligence into the system. This includes automating administrative tasks and leveraging data analytics to enhance tax-related services and decision-making. Furthermore, the project reflects LG CNS's growing strategy in Indonesia, where the company has been actively involved in government digitalization initiatives for over two decades, including collaborations with police and finance authorities.

Recently, LG CNS has expanded into AI infrastructure, recently completing a significant 100 billion won data center infrastructure project in Jakarta.

Bimo Wijayanto, head of Indonesia’s Directorate General of Taxes, lauded LG CNS for its technical proficiency and dedication during the Coretax project, expressing optimism for ongoing cooperation. Kim Hong-geun, executive vice president and head of the Digital Business Division at LG CNS, emphasized that the recognition reaffirms the company's partnership with Indonesia, stating their commitment to supporting the country's digital government transformation through their combined digital transformation capabilities and AI expertise.
