LEGO Is Officially Retiring the First Harry Potter Book Nook

In June 2025, LEGO introduced its inaugural set of book nooks, with three popular builds that have since remained in demand. However, as of 2026, more LEGO book nooks and bookends have emerged, leading to the retirement of one original model. The Hogwarts Express book nook, which was among the first releases, is now listed on LEGO's "Retiring Soon" page, signaling the imminent end of its availability.

Despite being a discounted item on Amazon, this set might still be worth purchasing as a Harry Potter gift. Designed to be displayed between books, the Hogwarts Express build can also function as bookends or fit between books on a shelf, unveiling distinct views of Platform 9 and 3/4 and the train. Unlike many other book nooks, this one is relatively compact, consisting of only 832 pieces and featuring minifigures of Harry Potter and Ron from their first year at Hogwarts.

Notably, the structure itself stands at 6.5 inches tall, which is suitable for smaller books but may appear out of place with taller volumes. The Harry Potter illustrated editions, for instance, measure around 11 inches, making them significantly larger than this set. Although this was the inaugural Harry Potter book nook, it is not the final one available.

As of June 2026, the Dumbledore's Office Book Nook has also been released. This set is more expensive, containing a greater number of pieces and including an Albus Dumbledore figure alongside a LEGO Fawkes. LEGO recently announced its most extensive and pricey book nook, the LEGO Bookstore Book Nook, comprising 1,690 pieces, marking the company's first foray into standalone bookstores.
