KP Launches Pishtakhara Underpass Project

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi inaugurated the Pishtakhara Underpass project on Sunday, marking a significant component of the Peshawar Revitalisation Plan. This initiative is part of Phase-I, which targets 19 major routes in Peshawar for comprehensive renovation, enhancement, and integration of modern infrastructure.

Afridi emphasized that Peshawar, historically the province's heart, merits restoration and improved aesthetics, citing it as a top government priority. He assured that the renovation aims to alleviate traffic congestion, streamline commuting, and uphold stringent standards of quality, financial integrity, and project timelines. The project has been budgeted at Rs7.2 billion, divided into distinct phases.

Phase 1-A encompasses nine primary routes, including key segments from Bacha Khan Chowk to Pajaggi Ring Road, Dalazak Road to Bacha Khan Chowk, and others. Phase 1-B focuses on seven crucial links, such as Kohat Road to Bara Pul and University Road to Spin Jumaat. Additional enhancements to boundary walls, main roads, and municipal entry points in Hayatabad are also planned.
