Korea's nuclear agency chief attends IAEA meeting in Austria

Choi Won-ho, the chairman of Korea's Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, is scheduled to attend a significant meeting at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. This conference, held from Monday to Friday, involves representatives from 180 nations. The IAEA general conference serves as a platform for nuclear safety discussions and policy-making among global stakeholders.

In addition to the IAEA meeting, Choi is also expected to participate in a gathering of the International Nuclear Regulators' Association. Established in 1997, this consultative body brings together regulators from nine countries, including the United States, Canada, Japan, and Germany. This meeting offers an opportunity for Choi to network with fellow regulators and explore potential areas of cooperation.

Furthermore, Choi's itinerary includes scheduled meetings with his counterparts from other nations. Among the individuals he will interact with are officials from the United Arab Emirates, the Czech Republic, and Singapore. These meetings aim to identify and foster collaborative efforts in the realm of nuclear safety and security, demonstrating Korea's commitment to international cooperation and dialogue on nuclear matters.
