Korea hosts top university officials from 7 nations to bolster academic ties

A group of eight prominent university leaders are set to visit Korea this week, aiming to strengthen academic collaboration and exchange opportunities. The delegation comprises officials from Spain, Latvia, New Zealand, Bahrain, Angola, Colombia, and Vietnam. The Korea Foundation is hosting the visit as part of its overseas leaders invitation program, which runs from Sunday to Saturday.

Among the attendees is Juan Manuel Corchado Rodriguez, the president of Spain's University of Salamanca. Luis Serra Majem, the president of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, will also be present. Gundars Berzins, the president of Latvia's University of Latvia, is another key participant. Erik Lithander, the deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Auckland in New Zealand, will join the delegation.

Mansoor Alaali, the president of Bahrain's Ahlia University, is another member. Diasala Jacinto Andre, the director of Angola's National Institute for Educational Evaluation and Development, will be among the visitors. Alejandro Villa Gomez, the president of Colombia's ITM University, is another participant. Lastly, Cong Hoa Truong, the director of Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Academy of Public Administration, will be present.

The purpose of this visit is to discuss and explore potential collaborations in artificial intelligence, student exchanges, and joint research initiatives between the participating universities and their Korean counterparts.
