The Toronto Raptors have been waiting for the outcome of the NBA's investigation into the Clippers' salary cap circumvention, fearing that Leonard could have been suspended had he been found guilty.

Now that the investigation is complete and the penalties accepted, the trade can proceed as initially agreed upon.

Toronto will receive Kawhi Leonard, while the LA Clippers will acquire Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two unprotected first-round picks (2031 and 2033), a 2027 first-round pick swap, and two second-round picks (2030 and 2033). This is a significant win for Leonard, who will escape the Los Angeles spotlight and join a city that welcomed him during his championship-winning season. It is anticipated that Leonard will sign an extension with the Raptors, though the specific timing remains uncertain.

Although some speculated that the Clippers might attempt to stall or alter the trade as punishment for Leonard's lenient punishment, league sources have consistently reported that the deal would go through. The Raptors are acquiring an All-NBA player last season, averaging 27.9 points and 6.4 rebounds in 65 games. When combined with Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley, Leonard will bring a dynamic and dangerous roster to Toronto.

On the other hand, the Clippers will be receiving a quality player in Brandon Ingram. However, the most significant aspect of this trade is the collection of first-round picks the Clippers receive.
