Jefferson-Wooden bags searing sprint double

Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Kenny Bednarek of the United States achieved memorable sprint doubles at the Ultimate Championship in Budapest on Sunday, while Alison dos Santos of Brazil set a high pace on the 400m hurdles. Both American athletes had previously won the 100m race on Saturday, and they followed up with their second success of the night in their respective 200m races.

The raucous sell-out crowd of 20,000 spectators cheered on the athletes as they battled for the lion's share of a $10 million prize pot. Dos Santos once again shone on the track, while Britain's Josh Kerr claimed victory in the 1,500m and Italian high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi impressed the crowd. Jefferson-Wooden set an impressive time of 21.47 seconds for her victory, which is the fourth fastest ever recorded.

Bednarek, a two-time Olympic silver medallist, finished in 19.52 seconds, putting him seventh on the all-time list. Dos Santos also delivered an impressive performance in the 400m hurdles, completing the event in 45.98 seconds, which is the third fastest time ever recorded.
