Jalen Hurts: It's about meeting the moment when opportunity comes

In Sunday's game, the Philadelphia Eagles' offense faced several challenges, such as five three-and-outs in just 11 possessions. However, they managed to secure a 24-22 victory over the Washington Commanders thanks to a series of clutch plays executed by quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Hurts played a pivotal role in many of these big plays. He connected with wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks on a 64-yard pass that set up tight end Dallas Goedert's first touchdown catch. Later in the first half, Hurts connected with Wicks again, this time for another score.

When the Commanders narrowed the Eagles' lead to one point in the fourth quarter, Hurts stepped up once more. He scrambled for 22 yards on third-and-18 and then connected with Goedert for a 43-yard touchdown that provided the Eagles with the cushion they needed to close out the game.

Reflecting on his ability to perform under pressure, Hurts stated, "It's not something that's forced. It's the same focus that you have throughout the entire game. It's the same poise that you play with throughout the entire game." He emphasized the importance of collective effort, stating that everyone on the team needed to be aligned and that he would take responsibility for the opportunities presented to him.

During a pre-game meeting with Tom Brady, Hurts highlighted the significance of meeting the moment when opportunities arise. He noted that it's about being in the right play at the right time and doing the right thing, which requires no special talent. Overall, Hurts expressed excitement about the team's potential and his eagerness to contribute to the Eagles' development as they look ahead to Week 2 and beyond.
