Iran war latest: Tehran says Gulf meeting in Oman postponed at request of regional countries

International talks between Iran and Gulf nations, set to address shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, have been postponed on Sunday. The meeting, originally scheduled for Monday in Oman, was called off following an incident where an Iranian cargo vessel was hit near Qeshm Island in the strait, resulting in one death and four injuries, according to Iranian state media.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi cited the need for "consensus" as the reason for postponing the dialogue, stating that his nation remains committed to fostering stable cooperation in the region. Tehran and Muscat jointly decided on the postponement, as per an Iranian foreign ministry official. Iran will work with Oman to reschedule the meeting, as reported by AFP.
