Hot, humid weather expected for Egypt on Monday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot, muggy weather for Monday across northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, while conditions will be exceedingly hot in South Sinai and the southern region. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach 46C in the southern areas. Overnight and early morning temperatures will be comfortable across most regions.

Satellite imagery suggests scattered areas of the North Coast, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities may see low-level clouds and light, brief drizzle. There is also a possibility of intermittent, light rain in Halayeb, Shalateen, and regions south of Aswan.

Wind activity is expected to be intermittent across Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, Upper Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea Governorate, potentially helping to moderate temperatures in some areas as evening approaches. The EMA has issued a warning regarding the potential effects of the anticipated weather, advising residents to stay informed through their latest updates and take appropriate precautions and preparations.

Expected temperatures for Monday are as follows: Greater Cairo at 35C (feels like 37C), Northwestern Coasts at 31C (feels like 34C), Northeastern Coasts at 32C (feels like 36C), Lower Egypt at 34C (feels like 36C), Northern Upper Egypt at 38C (feels like 40C), and Southern Upper Egypt at 45C (feels like 46C).
