HK, mainland shares open lower

Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Monday, with the Hang Seng Index losing 104 points, or 0.42 percent, at 24,701. Mainland shares also opened lower. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.54 percent to open at 3,867 whereas the Shenzhen Component Index was 1.03 percent down at 13,333. Edited by Edmond Fong
