Gurgaon hit-and-run: Biker's father seeks attempt to murder charge against driver

On Sunday, a woman motorcyclist named Sia was injured after being chased and rammed by a car on Gurgaon's Golf Course Road. The incident occurred while Sia was riding her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike alongside other bikers. Video footage showed a car with a Haryana license plate tailing the group and then cutting sharply into Sia's lane, hitting her bike.

According to Sia, the occupants of the car became hostile when she asked them to maintain a safe distance. She claimed they were intoxicated and demanded she stop, but she continued riding ahead to prevent them from blocking her. The car pursued her until it attempted to cut in front of her, striking her motorcycle. Sia was thrown from her bike and sustained injuries, though her protective gear prevented more severe harm.

Another rider in the group followed the car and intercepted it at a nearby traffic signal. When confronted, the driver denied responsibility and fled. Sia called for authorities to take action, expressing fear for her safety on Gurgaon roads. Citizens and motoring groups demanded an FIR for rash driving, endangerment, and hit-and-run.

Police asked her to file a complaint, stating they would begin an investigation based on her allegations.
