Gulf Development Public Company Limited (GULF) officially launched its involvement in Gastech 2026 as a National Consortium Partner, inaugurating the first day of the world's foremost gathering of natural gas, LNG, low-carbon technologies, power generation systems, and AI for the energy industry. This year's Gastech returns to Thailand after an 18-year hiatus, taking place at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from September 14-17, 2026.
The opening ceremony attracted international energy leaders and policymakers, with over 50,000 attendees from more than 150 nations participating in the event.
GULF's participation underscores its status as Thailand's leading energy and infrastructure conglomerate, under the theme "Integrated Infrastructure, Powering Tomorrow." This vision emphasizes a robust foundation in energy security, the expansion of clean energy, and the progress of digital and AI infrastructure to foster long-term economic growth for Thailand and the broader region.
Sarath Ratanavadi, GULF's Chief Executive Officer, highlighted Thailand's appeal to investors, particularly in the energy sector, as the nation transitions towards cleaner energy. Natural gas remains crucial for power system security, especially as electricity demand surges alongside the proliferation of data centers.
GULF has recently collaborated with Singtel on a submarine cable project to reduce the cost of AI data processing and bolster Thailand's competitiveness in the region. The company is committed to long-term investment in the power sector, while simultaneously expanding into data centers and digital infrastructure to drive Thailand's economic growth and competitiveness on the regional front.
Throughout the four-day conference, GULF will showcase its business group's capabilities through the GULF Pavilion (Booth No. C80), covering over 420 square meters. The pavilion highlights the interconnectivity of GULF's four core industries — energy, natural gas resources, ports and logistics, and digital and telecommunications — with an immersive experience demonstrating the journey from a secure energy base to driving the new economy.
GULF's strategy is anchored in three pillars: ensuring energy security through natural gas and LNG infrastructure; accelerating sustainable power by increasing its renewable energy portfolio and pursuing its Net Zero objective; and scaling infrastructure in line with AI advancements to support investments from leading global technology companies.
GULF extends an invitation to industry partners, business stakeholders, media, and technology leaders to visit the GULF Pavilion at Gastech 2026, held at BITEC Bangna, Bangkok, from September 14-17, 2026.
