GTA 6's first confirmed actor is King of the Hill's Stephen Root: "It's an amazing thing to look at"

Rockstar Games, the developer of the popular Grand Theft Auto series, has confirmed the voice of one of the main characters in GTA 6. The actor is Stephen Root, known for his roles in horror films like Get Out and the HBO series Barry. Rockstar Games' spokesperson, speaking to AP News, confirmed Root's involvement, stating, "Yeah, you're gonna see me in that."

Root, who has a prolific career in voice acting, including appearances in King of the Hill and the Finding Nemo video game, was asked about fan speculation regarding his association with the game. He revealed that he had been in the game since its early stages and his character's identity was revealed long before the game's announcement.

The character, described as a classic drug runner named Brian, has been described as "still moving product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori." Fans have speculated he might be voicing the role of Brian Heder. Root expressed his excitement about the project, saying, "It's an amazing thing to look at." Rockstar Games has also confirmed there will be no generative AI or microtransactions in GTA 6, which is set to release on November 19th. The game is currently running at 30 frames per second, with no plans to include a 60 FPS option.
