From missing Apple internship to joining Revolut: Meet engineering student who landed ₹4.5 lakh monthly opportunity

Ifran Mohammad, an engineering student at Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology in Jalandhar, has garnered attention on social media after securing a lucrative internship at Revolut UAE. The 22-year-old B Tech student, pursuing Information Technology, landed the role of an iOS Developer with the fintech company.

Ifran's career trajectory took an unexpected turn when he missed out on an Apple internship during his second year of studies. Despite the disappointment, he persevered and eventually joined NIT Jalandhar. A software engineer named Vikas detailed Ifran's journey on X, revealing that the student paid ₹9 lakhs for a two-month private university in Chennai before leaving it after his first year. Ifran then enrolled at SRM University, only to leave it a year later for NIT Jalandhar.

Vikas mentioned that Ifran secured an Apple internship in his second year, an on-site opportunity in Bali, Indonesia. However, the strict 75% attendance policy in Indian colleges prevented him from joining the prestigious tech giant. Undeterred, Ifran continued to work towards his career goals.

In addition to his technical prowess, Ifran is also recognized as an orator and public speaker. He has given talks on various prestigious platforms, including TEDx. The student is also an avid cyclist, having cycled across an entire country.

His latest LinkedIn post announced that he was invited to speak at the Am I Tech Enough community's Happy Hour at the DIFC Fintech Hive. Ifran's opportunity came about after he received a referral from a known person at Revolut. The engineering student's career trajectory, from missing out on an Apple internship to joining Revolut, has been described as a "plot twist" by social media users, with many praising his inspiring story.
