Fortune, Ajegunle Utd Set Pace in Week 2 of Nat Idowu U16 League

Fortune FA and Ajegunle United led the way in the second week of the Nathaniel Idowu U-16 Football League, as the competition recorded 21 goals in five matches at the New Maracana Sports Complex, Tolu. This brought the total goals scored in the opening two weeks to 43, following the 22 goals from Week 1. Fortune FA stunned Divinely Blessed 6-0, with Odunayo Odesola scoring a hat-trick in the 3rd, 16th, and 25th minutes.

Daniel Udoh added a goal before halftime, while substitute Akanbi Quadri sealed the victory with two goals in the 63rd and 70th minutes. Fortune FA received four assists from Agbato Wasiu, including three in the first half. Odesola was named Man of the Match.

Young Eleven also secured a point, winning 1-0 against a goalless challenge from Ajegunle United. Atico FA and Bright Stars SA drew 1-1, with both Timilehin Ajomale and Valentine Aniako scoring. Aniako, who scored a hat-trick in Week 1, now leads the Golden Boot race with four goals. Sheriff Musa was named Man of the Match for Bright Stars.

Ajegunle United dominated Moore Wins 4-0, with Peter Adoga scoring twice and Onyebuchi Okolo also netting two goals. Adoga opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, followed by Okolo's goal five minutes later. Adoga added another goal in the 74th minute, and Okolo completed the scoring with a free kick in the 81st minute. At St. Petersburg FA, St. Petersburg's Ebuka Emeka scored twice, while David Ohaeri and Emmanuel Ebube also found the net. Seraphic's Ebube Ugwunna and Fred Apoh scored two free kicks, equalizing in the end.

With 43 goals already scored in the first two weeks, the league has made an impressive start. Fortune FA, with six goals and four assists, have emerged as early contenders. As Week 3 approaches, more exciting fixtures are expected in the pursuit of identifying and developing young football talents.
