Former Twiga Foods Unit GT Flow Placed Under Administration Over Debts

GT Flow Limited, previously named Twiga Foods One Limited, has been placed under administration to tackle debts owed to suppliers and creditors. Mohamed Mohamed has been appointed as the administrator, assuming control of the company’s assets and management. The Gazette Notice states that the directors' authority to deal with assets is suspended without the administrator's permission.

All future company matters will be directed to the administrator or their representatives. The move aims to help the company restructure its affairs and protect creditor interests. Under Kenya's insolvency framework, administration allows a struggling company to reorganise while safeguarding assets and increasing the likelihood of recovering owed funds.

This development follows a petition filed in March to liquidate Twiga Tatu SEZ Limited due to outstanding debts, a separate process from GT Flow’s administration, despite both companies being part of the Twiga Foods ecosystem. The liquidation petition is governed by Kenya’s Insolvency Act, allowing creditors to seek court intervention if a company cannot pay its debts.

If granted, a liquidator would take control of the company's affairs and assets, selling them and distributing proceeds to creditors in compliance with the law. Twiga Tatu SEZ Limited is a Nairobi-based business-to-business food distribution platform founded in 2014, part of the wider Twiga Foods ecosystem.
