Fire breaks out at Pulau Tenggol jetty parking area, 11 cars affected, says Dungun Fire Dept

DUNGUN, September 13 — A fire at the Pulau Tenggol public jetty parking area near Jalan Rajawali yesterday afternoon affected 11 cars, including two that were severely damaged. The Dungun Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Yahaya Hanafi, reported that the department was alerted to the incident at 12:14 pm. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found 11 vehicles involved in the blaze.

According to Yahaya, the fire caused approximately 90 percent of a Perodua Myvi and a Mitsubishi ASX sport utility vehicle (SUV) to be destroyed, while nine other vehicles suffered minor damage. The fire was brought under control at 12:32 pm and fully extinguished by 3:15 pm by six firefighters, who received assistance from a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and a utility vehicle.

Yahaya mentioned that the firefighters utilized a 200-foot (60.96-meter) hose line, foam spray, and water supply from the fire engine's tank during the operation. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire and total losses are currently under investigation.
