Famous Tourist Destination to Get New Parks and Heritage Sites

The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is set to enhance its tourism offerings with the development of new parks, heritage sites, and tourist facilities in the picturesque Neelum Valley. This initiative is part of the government's 100-day transformation program aimed at boosting the region's appeal to visitors.

During a recent inspection tour of Keran, Sharda, Arang Kel, and other key destinations within the upper valley, Tourism, Youth and Culture Secretary Ansar Yaqoob received updates on the progress of tourism village planning and inspected sites earmarked for recreational and ecotourism projects. Assistant Director Tourism Malik Murtaza provided a detailed briefing on current tourism initiatives, proposed schemes, and existing facilities across different locations.

Yaqoob confirmed that sites for recreational and ecotourism parks, as well as heritage locations, have been identified and finalized. Furthermore, the AJK government is exploring additional destinations that could benefit from similar developments. To elevate the overall tourist experience, all guesthouses and hotels throughout Neelum Valley will be incorporated into an integrated framework, with the goal of enhancing services and fostering a thriving, organized, safe, and sustainable hospitality sector.

The secretary emphasized the importance of expediting work on tourism projects in Keran, Sharda, Arang Kel, and other areas within the upper valley to ensure a timely and impactful transformation.
