Excelerate Energy seesaws amid takeover speculation

Nord Gas Solutions has secured a contract to provide a regasification system module for Excelerate Energy's first Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) conversion project. The module will be installed on the "Methane Patricia Camila," a 170,000 cbm LNG carrier being converted into an FSRU. The contract was awarded in July 2026.

David Liner, Excelerate Energy's Chief Operating Officer, stated that NGS's extensive experience and strong relationship with Excelerate Energy made them the ideal partner for this project. The NGS regasification module will be delivered during the first half of 2028, expanding access to cleaner and more affordable natural gas in the markets served by the converted FSRU.

Pål Steinnes, Head of Sales, Midstream at Nord Gas Solutions, expressed honor at teaming up with one of the industry's most prominent companies on their first conversion project. Nord Gas Solutions, now the new corporate brand following the acquisition of Wärtsilä Gas Solutions by Mutares SE & Co., has extensive global experience in regas modules for FSRU conversions.
