Etihad makes 'great bet' on premium travel with new A330 Neo and A321LR cabins

Etihad Airways has unveiled new cabins for its existing Airbus A321LR narrowbodies and upcoming Airbus A330 Neo wide-bodies, enhancing its premium travel offerings and emphasizing the luxury passenger experience. The airline's focus on premium travel stems from the increasing demand for front seats. These new products aim to give Etihad's planes and airport lounges a consistent, modern feel akin to Abu Dhabi.

Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves expressed confidence in this strategic move, stating, "I have no doubt, I'm 100 per cent sure it's a great bet." The new cabins, described as brighter, lighter, and modern, will be introduced in September 2027 when 15 A330 Neos join the fleet over the course of five years. Additionally, Etihad plans to spend $1 billion on retrofitting older Boeing 777s and 787s by the fourth quarter of 2027.

Neves added that the airline is working on its next-generation first-class cabins for the A350-1000 and Boeing 777X, set to join the fleet in 2029 and 2032, respectively. The ultimate goal is to have Etihad present an entirely new look and feel by mid-to-end 2028.
