Entire California high school football team suspended, forced to forfeit game

Victor Valley High School's football team has been suspended for a week and forced to forfeit their next game after an incident during their recent match against Apple Valley. The Jackrabbits had won 20-7, but the suspension affects their upcoming game against Brea Olinda. School district superintendent Carl J. Coles announced the punishment on Facebook, stating the incident did not represent Victor Valley.

The suspension targets varsity players and coaching staff, not lower-level teams. Coles emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and accountability. The coaches and players will undergo a review of the code of conduct in the following week. Victor Valley will now start the season at 3-2 after the forfeited game, with their next match against Lancaster on September 25.
