A recent CBS News Battleground Tracker poll has revealed that President Donald Trump's approval rating on the economy among women has reached a historic low. Just over a quarter of women now approve of his handling of the economy, a significant decline from previous months. This drop is particularly troubling for Trump and the Republican Party, as women have traditionally been one of his weakest demographic groups, often leaning towards the Democratic Party.

The poll, conducted from September 8-11 among 2,460 U.S. adults, comes as Trump and Republican candidates strive to maintain their congressional majorities in the upcoming November midterms. Trump himself acknowledged the importance of the economy to American voters, stating, "Pretend that I'm on the ballot. I'm on the ballot, just one more time." However, the president's handling of the economy has been a source of frustration for many, with just 27 percent of female respondents approving of his economic policies, a drop of five percentage points from July. Approval of his handling of inflation was even lower, at 22 percent, a three-point decline.
