Disney+ Malaysia Is Getting A New App Next Month

Disney+ Malaysia will launch a new app on 7 October 2026, enhancing the streaming service's viewing experience. Existing subscribers can access the new app without additional charges, using their current email or phone number for login. However, they will need to set up their profiles again, as existing profiles won't transfer to the new app. Users who haven't provided an email address in the current app will be prompted to do so during their first login.

The new Disney+ app will offer two plans: Standard for Basic subscribers and retaining Premium features for subscribers with a Premium subscription. The Standard plan includes downloads, up to 1080p video quality, and support for two simultaneous streams. Subscription billing periods will remain unchanged, and users can modify their subscription at any time.

Disney+ has been available in Malaysia through its official app and website, with monthly or annual plans starting at RM29.90. Local partners like Astro, CelcomDigi, and Unifi TV also offer subscriptions through add-ons and bundles, ranging from RM16 to RM21.90 per month. Despite a rebranding in October 2025, Disney+ Malaysia continues to operate on the same regional infrastructure across Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
