Diane Morgan’s ‘Cunk on Cinema’ Follow-Up to Feature Michael Bay, Benedict Cumberbatch

British comedian Diane Morgan is set to return to her iconic role as Philomena Cunk, this time for a three-part documentary series titled "Cunk on Cinema." The new installment, unveiled by the BBC on Monday, marks Morgan's return to the role of the quirky mockumentarian, following her previous venture, "Cunk on Life," which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2024.

"Cunk on Cinema" promises to be Morgan's most glamorous series yet, as she delves into the world of film with a host of contemporary filmmakers and industry experts.

Among the impressive array of interviewees featured in "Cunk on Cinema" are Hollywood titans Michael Bay ("Transformers") and Benedict Cumberbatch ("Doctor Strange"), as well as Daniel Pemberton ("Project Hail Mary"), Steven E. de Souza ("Die Hard"), Seamus McGarvey ("Atonement"), Mark Kermode, and David Rubin, the former Academy president.

The documentary promises to explore a wide range of topics, from the origins of the camera to the French New Wave, and even ventures into the future of filmmaking with the influence of AI and CGI.

Morgan and her writing partner, Michael Bay, are joined by a team of talented writers, including Ben Caudell, Erika Ehler, Eli Goldstone, Jason Hazeley, Dan Maier, Joel Morris, Michael Odewale, Kali Varghese, and Sam Ward. The series will be directed by Al Campbell, known for his work on "Cunk on Life." With her deadpan humor and wit, Morgan brings the same charm and insight to her latest endeavor as she did in her previous Cunk adventures. "Cunk on Cinema" is set to make its debut in the United States on Netflix.
