Crown Castle CFO Sunit Patel to retire, names successor

Crown Castle Inc., a telecommunications company, announced leadership changes on Monday. The Chief Financial Officer, Sunit Patel, will retire on March 31, 2027. Cathy Piche, the Chief Operating Officer, will leave the company on September 23, 2026. Kris Hinson, currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, will succeed Patel as CFO on April 1, 2027.

Piche will continue with the company until February 22, 2027, as a special advisor to assist in the transition. Hinson has been with Crown Castle since 2008, holding various finance roles, including Vice President of Corporate Finance and Treasurer. Before that, he spent 13 years at ExxonMobil in finance leadership positions. Piche has served Crown Castle for 15 years, holding senior roles such as Area President and Senior Vice President of Network, and currently sits on the Wireless Infrastructure Association's board. Crown Castle operates and leases approximately 40,000 cell towers across the United States.
