CBI registers FIR in Disha Salian death case: Details

On Monday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) pertaining to the demise of Disha Salian, the ex-manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, per orders from the Bombay High Court. The FIR specifies the involvement of various individuals for the investigation, such as Aaditya Thackeray, a leader from the Shiv Sena (UBT), Rohan Roy, Dino Morea, Sooraj Pancholi, Aaditya's personal guards, Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, a former police officer named Sachin Vaze, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, DCP Vishal Thakur, and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The document also lists police officers, forensic officials, doctors, and additional individuals.

According to the FIR, numerous individuals are being investigated for principal offenses, criminal conspiracy, the fabrication of a false suicide account, and the concealment, obliteration, or manipulation of evidence. The list of suspects includes officers from the Malvani Police Station, medical professionals involved in the autopsy, personnel from the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina, security personnel at the Regent Galaxy Building, members of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), and other unnamed individuals.

On June 8, 2020, Disha Salian tragically passed away after falling from a residential building in Mumbai's Malad area. Initially, the Mumbai Police only issued an Accidental Death Report (ADR). The timing of Salian's death and Sushant Singh Rajput's passing six days later sparked intense speculation about a possible connection, even though the authorities treated the two incidents as unrelated.

Public outcry over Rajput's death led the Maharashtra government to transfer the case to the CBI, which ultimately concluded that Rajput had taken his own life. However, the court has not yet reviewed the closure report.
