Cagliari insist Daniel Maldini did not fail drug test

Cagliari have refuted claims that their striker Daniel Maldini failed a drug test following a car accident. The Italian club stated that all toxicology tests conducted on Maldini returned negative results. The incident occurred on Sunday morning after a Serie A match between Cagliari and Atalanta in Bergamo, where Maldini scored the winning penalty for the Sardinians.

Maldini's driving license was confiscated after he allegedly failed a breathalyzer test. According to multiple sources, including Gazzetta, he also failed a preliminary drug test. However, Cagliari denies these allegations. The accident took place at Piazza Caneva in Milan around 5:15 AM, when Maldini collided with a Volkswagen Golf while driving his Porsche Carrera. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported among those involved in the crash.
