Byeon Woo-seok buys $9.4 million Seoul penthouse in cash, cementing meteoric rise

Actress Byeon Woo-seok has recently made headlines by purchasing a lavish penthouse at Hannam The Hill, one of Seoul's most prestigious residential complexes, for a staggering 13 billion won, or approximately $9.4 million, in cash. According to property records, Woo-seok finalized the deal in May and completed the purchase on September 2, marking the transfer of ownership into his name.

Remarkably, the property remains mortgage-free, leading to speculation about the actor's ability to pay the full amount upfront. Known for its exclusivity and proximity to luxury, Hannam The Hill has previously been home to renowned figures such as So Ji-sub, Lee Yo-won, and BTS members RM and Jimin. The size and timing of this acquisition have sparked interest, not only for its impressive price tag but also for the rapid rise of Byeon Woo-seok's career.

Prior to his breakthrough, the actor worked as a model and appeared in minor acting roles, a journey that seemed to culminate in 2024 with his lead role in the hit romantic drama Lovely Runner. This series gained immense popularity, transforming Byeon into a sought-after leading man with an expanding global fan base. Since then, he has secured lucrative endorsement deals with over 20 brands across various sectors, from consumer electronics and beauty products to finance and fashion.

His on-screen presence has also expanded, with appearances in the period drama Perfect Crown and the Netflix variety show Jae-seok's B&B Rules!.
