Chift, a Brussels-based startup offering a financial connectivity layer for European software, has secured €10.5 million in Series A funding. The investment round was led by BlackFin Capital Partners, a prominent European FinTech investor with over €4 billion in assets, and included participation from Entourage, Shapers, Seeder Fund, and Wallonie Entreprendre.

Chift's CEO and co-founder, Gauthier Henroz, explained that financial data connectivity is inherently challenging, especially in Europe where data is scattered across numerous local systems lacking interoperability. This is where Chift's platform shines by providing a unified API that allows software vendors to connect to over 120 financial systems, including accounting, invoicing, e-commerce, and payments, with a single integration.

For instance, an invoicing platform can seamlessly route customer invoices into 40 various accounting tools without the need for separate integrations.

The company's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enables AI agents to securely access and share data across its integration network, handling authentication and access control. This addresses the growing need for AI systems and agents to handle financial data effectively. Chift's CEO emphasized the importance of its work in enabling interoperability amid the increasing number of tools businesses rely on, which is particularly crucial in Europe's fragmented market of 27 countries.

Since its €2.3 million Seed round in 2024, Chift's revenue has grown tenfold, and its team has expanded to 35 employees. The platform is now utilized by more than 150 software companies to connect over 50,000 SMEs across ten European countries. Notable clients include fintechs like Revolut, Qonto, Pennylane, and Mollie.

BlackFin Capital Partners' Investment Director, Pauline Brunel, expressed confidence in Chift's mission to become the infrastructure for business software in the AI era. The company plans to use the new funding to expand into all major European markets, accelerate its AI initiatives, and introduce more self-configuring integrations that eliminate the need for manual setup by customers. By 2028, Chift aspires to be Europe's leading provider of financial connectivity.
