Brie Larson Film Adaptation of ‘One Italian Summer’ Sets Spring 2028 Release From Paramount

Brie Larson is set to star in and executive produce the adaptation of Rebecca Serle's novel "One Italian Summer" for Paramount. The film, which will be released on May 12, 2028, follows the story of a young woman named Katy whose dream trip to the Amalfi Coast is interrupted by a devastating loss. As she explores Italy, Katy discovers a chance to reconnect with her mother in a new way, ultimately leading to surprising revelations and a deeper understanding of love, life, and herself.

Harry Bradbeer, who directed the critically acclaimed "Fleabag," will take the director's chair for this project, and Larson herself will serve as an executive producer alongside Serle and David Stone of TFC Productions. Temple Hill Entertainment is handling production for the film. Larson, a two-time Oscar nominee for her role in "Room," recently starred in Apple TV+'s "Lessons in Chemistry" and voiced Princess Rosalina in "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie."

She has upcoming projects on FX, Amazon MGM Studios, and Sony. Director Bradbeer made his feature film debut with Netflix's "Enola Holmes" and is currently working on "A Matter of Time" with Ben Stiller and Nicholas Galitzine. Temple Hill Production is represented by UTA. The news of Larson's involvement in this adaptation was first reported by Deadline.
