Boufal embarks on new adventure with Libya's Al-Ittihad

Sofiane Boufal has embarked on a new adventure with Libya's Al-Ittihad, the Tripoli-based side announced on Monday. The 32-year-old Moroccan, known for his attacking prowess, joins the club on a free transfer after a career that has taken him from France, England, Spain, Belgium, to Qatar. Al-Ittihad, looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season, praised Boufal as a "wizard" in a video posted to their official Facebook page.

Boufal, who previously played for Southampton, Celta Vigo, and Lille, was part of the Moroccan team that made history by reaching the World Cup semi-finals at the 2022 tournament in Qatar. However, he was not selected for Morocco's squad for the 2026 World Cup. His journey from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean will see him begin a new chapter with Al-Ittihad, hoping his experience and creativity can bolster their bid for domestic glory.
