Ashleigh Gardner, a renowned Australian cricketer, was born on April 15, 1997, in Bankstown, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She is an accomplished all-rounder, adept at both batting and bowling. Representing the Australian national women's team and New South Wales in various competitions, Gardner has also played for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League, the Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League, and is a trailblazer as one of the few Aboriginal women in top-level cricket.

She founded the Ashleigh Gardner Foundation to support Aboriginal children's education and wellbeing.

Her younger brother, Aaron Gardner, played a pivotal role in shaping Ashleigh's sporting journey. Growing up in Sydney, they shared a strong sporting bond, often engaging in backyard games. Aaron's involvement in cricket, rugby league, and other sports inspired Ashleigh to follow his lead. Gardener's cricket career began in childhood, with her father enrolling her at the Revesby Workers Cricket Club at age six or seven.

She quickly excelled, playing in boys' teams and earning a New South Wales state contract at 17. She made her Women's National Cricket League debut in 2015–16 and joined the Sydney Sixers for the inaugural Women's Big Bash League season. Gardner's international career began in 2017, with her debut in T20I, ODI, and Test matches.

She has since been a consistent performer in major tournaments, contributing to Australia's successes in various ICC and Women's Cricket World Cup events.
