Ares names James Garforth principal for Asia direct lending

Hong Kong, September 14 - Ares Management Corp has appointed James Garforth as principal for its Asia direct lending division, according to an internal memo obtained by Reuters. Garforth, who leaves his position at BGH Capital in Melbourne, will relocate to Hong Kong to oversee the business. He will report to Peter Graf, a partner and head of Asia direct lending at Ares.

Prior to BGH, Garforth worked at KKR Capital Markets in Sydney and held roles at Credit Suisse in leveraged finance and financial sponsors. He also served in financial roles at Credit Suisse in New York and Sydney. Garforth, a graduate of the University of Queensland, holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics.
