Anneke Bosch’s bowling reinvention paying off for Proteas Women in Zimbabwe

Anneke Bosch, 33, is experiencing a resurgence in her cricket career with the Proteas Women’s team in Zimbabwe. The top-order batter had been struggling since her diagnosis of a severe illness 18 months ago, which she described as the "worst" period of her career. Her absence was noticeable during the ODI World Cup in India, where she lost her position in the Proteas' lineup.

However, after a stint with Essex in the English T20 Blast, Bosch has regained her confidence and shown it in Zimbabwe with two consecutive half-centuries. The 83 and 65 scores helped the Proteas reach 193/5 before she took 2/5 to limit the hosts to 129/7. Bosch expressed her appreciation for the opportunities she had in England and her enjoyment of playing in different conditions.

She also highlighted the familiarity she had with the Zimbabwean cricket scene due to her previous tour with the South African Emerging team. Bosch believes that this experience will aid her in the current series, emphasizing the importance of watching the ball and reacting to it on the field.
