미 빅테크 ‘AI 위험론’에 중국 반발…“기술 진전 방해할 뿐”

Seoul University has announced that 991 students will be admitted to its College of Integrated Arts and Sciences for the 2027 academic year. The student selection process includes a combination of merit-based, mixed merit, and interview-based categories. The merit-based categories, including the Barom Talent Evaluation, SW Talent Evaluation, and Christian Leadership Evaluation, are based solely on the application materials, while the mixed merit categories such as SW Talent Evaluation, Christian Leadership Evaluation, and Merit-Based Evaluation are based on a combination of 50% exam scores and 50% interview scores.

The entrance exam consists of 4 subject areas (literature, mathematics, English, and exploration), and students must select 2 areas that add up to a total of 7 points or less. The exploration category only considers the top score in each subject. Academic majors are weighted and 3rd-year students who have completed courses in literature, mathematics, English, history, and science are given additional points for their chosen majors.

The school requires a teacher recommendation, and there are no limitations on the number of recommendations per school. The College of General Studies offers admissions to 120 students through the Analytical Writing Supplement, with 80 going to the Humanities and Social Sciences section and 40 to the Natural Sciences section. The Analytical Writing Supplement evaluates students based on 80% analytical writing and 20% academic performance, without applying the minimum academic standards set by the SAT.

The Humanities and Social Sciences section covers integrated teaching methods, including textual analysis of data, charts, and opinions. The Natural Sciences section focuses on mathematics, covering up to Math III. In 2027, Seoul University will establish an AI Integrated College, offering admissions to 25 students for the AI specialization, 25 for the Software major, and 39 for the Data Science major.

Additionally, the university will create a position for career-change professionals, admitting 25 AI-enabled content creators, 25 New Media Design majors, and 39 Business Management specialists. All applicants are evaluated based on their academic and career skills, as well as their ability to contribute to the community, with admissions based solely on these criteria.
