Afigya Kwabre South schools receive furniture from District Assembly

Madam Patricia Pearl Ankrah, District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti Region, has presented office furniture to schools in her district to aid teaching and learning. The donation includes dual desks and teachers' tables and chairs, handed over to the District Education Directorate for distribution to government schools throughout the region. The package contains 150 sets of tables and six chairs.

During the event, the DCE highlighted that her initiative aims to tackle the shortage of furniture plaguing education in Afigya Kwabre South. By providing the necessary resources, Madam Ankrah believes the environment for both teachers and students will become more conducive, ultimately boosting the quality of education in the district.

The District Assembly plans to address other educational challenges, particularly the lack of school infrastructure, by focusing on the construction of school buildings in the near future. Several projects are nearing completion and will soon be commissioned.

The District Chief Executive urged teachers and school authorities to handle the furniture with care to maintain its condition for the benefit of both present and future students and educators.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the District Education Director, Mr. Francis Kumanim, expressed gratitude towards Madam Ankrah for her consistent support for education in the area. He noted that earlier this year, the DCE had provided 400 mono desks to schools in the district, and now, additional furniture consisting of 200 dual desks and teachers' desks has been presented. Additionally, Mr. Kumanim announced that another set of hexagonal desks would be distributed to government schools across the district.

He assured Madam Ankrah that the Education Directorate and beneficiary schools will ensure the furniture remains in good condition, benefiting future generations. The provision of the furniture is expected to enhance the learning environment and support effective teaching and learning in schools across Afigya Kwabre South.
