‘3rd Environmental, Social and Governance Conference’ to kick off on October 6

The Qatar Chamber has announced the '3rd Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Qatar Conference', set to take place on October 6 and 7 at The Ritz-Carlton Doha. The two-day event, organized by Hawkama International, seeks to bolster corporate sustainability, social responsibility, and sound governance frameworks. Part of the Business Community Partner is Qatar Chamber, with major institutions such as Qatar Stock Exchange, QNB Group, Dukhan Bank, Doha Bank, Qatar International Islamic Bank, and Aamal Company providing support.

Qatar Chamber acting general manager Qatar Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri emphasized the significance of ESG issues as crucial elements of corporate competitiveness, investment readiness, risk management, and long-term sustainability. He noted that as global standards progress, integrating ESG principles into a company's strategies and operations is vital for growth, attracting investment, building trust, and maintaining competitiveness in rapidly changing markets.

Al-Mansouri views the conference as a platform to foster dialogue among business leaders, policy experts, and key stakeholders, aiming to raise awareness about modern governance and corporate responsibility in Qatar. Dr Buthaina al-Ansari, chairperson of Hawkama International and Conference chairperson, revealed that the event will launch a dedicated digital platform for ESG reporting, disclosure requirements structuring, and enhanced reporting quality.
