When Calls The Heart's Martin Cummins Played A Villain In This Cult Sci-Fi Series

Martin Cummins built his villainous skills on the set of Kyle XY before taking on the role of Henry Gowen in When Calls the Heart. The ABC series, a late-2000s hit, began with a teenage boy named Kyle waking up with no memories in the forest. The show followed Kyle's journey to uncover his past and identity. In Season 2, Cummins portrayed Brian Taylor, a member of a secretive scientific society with sinister intentions for Kyle.

After a conflict with Kyle in the penultimate episode, Cummins departed the series. Despite the show's cancellation in 2009, it has become a cult classic. Cummins, known for his villainous roles, was a perfect fit for the callous businessman Henry Gowen. Gowen's redemption arc provided an opportunity for Cummins to explore a new side of his acting.
